San Jose son wanted in connection to death of father

Suspect Maxim Zhukov

SAN JOSE — While the San Jose Police Department is looking into a suspicious death, the Richmond Police Department is also looking for a suspect believed to be the victim’s son, 30-year-old Maxim Zhukov of San Jose.

Zhukov is sought in connection with the murder of his father, 54-year-old Evgeniy Zhukov. According to Sgt. Enrique Garcia of the SJPD, the elder Zhokov was reported missing by a family member on January 1.

On the 4th, Richmond PD found him dead. The younger Zhukov is suspected to have been involved, further suggested by evidence collected at the scene. Per Sgt. Garcia, the victim was found dead in his son’s abandoned vehicle.

Authorities quickly began investigating the discovery as a homicide, during which they determined that the elder Zhukov was possibly murdered at his residence in the 6600 block of Neptune Court in San Jose.

Richmond PD obtained a search warrant for the residence and determined through evidence collected there that they had most likely found the scene of the homicide. According to Sgt. Garcia, San Jose PD has taken over the case as of January 5th.

A felony murder warrant has been issued for Maxium Zhukov. Police are asking that anyone with information leading to his whereabouts contact Detective Sergeant Rick Yu or Detective Wayne Smith of the SJPD Homicide UNit at 408-277-5283.
