Home invaders make off with pot, cash, guns

5400 area of Lone Pine Road, Santa Rosa

SANTA ROSA – According to a Community Bulletin issued by the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO), five suspects entered an occupied home in the 5400 block of Lone Pine Road shortly after 2:30am Sunday, December 20th. The occupants of the Hessel area home outside of Sebastopol had been awakened by the sound of a shattering sliding glass door. The men demanded marijuana, cocaine, and money.

The male resident was escorted at gunpoint to the garage and was ordered to open two large gun safes. The thieves took over ten pounds of processed marijuana, jewelry, cell phones, more than forty guns — handguns, shotguns, and rifles of various calibers — and $5,000 in cash.

The homeowner and his wife were held for nearly an hour while the burglars collected all of the items. The suspects then bound the victims and then fled the residence. They’d gotten a 15-minute head start before the victims could call 911.

All of the suspects were described as Hispanic, ranging in age from 20 to 40 years of age.

Further individual descriptions were not immediately available and the investigation is ongoing.

Detectives from the Violent Crimes Investigations bureau are actively following leads. Further details will only be released as appropriate.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is encouraged to call the Investigations Tip Line at 707-565-2185. You may also submit a Silent Witness form which is available on the SCSO website.
