HOLLISTER— A suspect wanted by Hollister Police for a November 10th incident turned himself in after finding out he was sought.

On Tuesday, November 10, at around 2 PM, a newer model red GMC Yukon collided with a parked vehicle near the area of 625 San Benito Street, then left the scene without attempting to contact the other vehicle’s owner.

The parked vehicle sustained front-end damage while the suspect vehicle may have sustained minor damage to the rear bumper.  The accident was captured by CCTV, although the license plate was not legible.

The vehicle was described as a new model red GMC Yukon with an American flag decal on the side window, along with an American flag bug guard on the front.  A witness described the driver as a white male, 50s, heavy set with a beard, and accompanied by an adult female.

Hollister Police Department received numerous phone calls from citizens identifying the suspect. On December 3, nearly a month after the incident, the suspect turned himself in just as police were preparing to make contact.

Hollister Police would like to thank its citizens for their help in closing the case.
