SAN JOSE – Sergeant Enrique Garcia with the San Jose Police reported the arrest of two suspects wanted by the San Jose Police department for a home burglary . According to Garcia, “On August 13, 2015, at 1:50 p.m., a burglary occurred in the 2600 block of Casey Way in San Jose.”

Police released surveillance video of the two suspects entering the home.

The female suspect, 23-year-old Kristina Hernandez had knocked on the front door of a residence, while carrying what appears to be an electric bass. After no one answered, the second suspect, 29-year-old Neang Nghounoi, entered the residence, breaking in through a rear sliding glass door. He is seen inside grabbing what appears to be a jewelry box, and carrying it out the front door.

Almost a month later, on October 7, Nghounoi was detained and handcuffed by bail bond agents, but he managed to escape. Hernandez was later arrested on Thursday, October 29, and is currently housed in the women’s section of the Santa Clara County Main Jail.

San Jose Police were still seeking the whereabouts of Nghounoi, when a lead pointed them to a house in East San Jose at Askham Place Court, late Thursday evening, November 12. When police arrived at the residence several occupants exited the home and tried to run away, but one of them was soon captured. He was later arrested on an outstanding warrant.

But several others, along with Nghounoi, ran back into the residence to avoid capture. A police standoff occurred, with the final surrender of Nghounoi, who was wanted for a violent assault charge, as well as multiple burglary charges, and felony evasion.

Anyone with information about this burglary or similar instances is asked to contact Detective Sergeant Mike Montonye #3071 of the San Jose Police Department’s Burglary Unit at (408) 277-4401.

Hernandez is scheduled to appear in Dept 33 at 9:00 am Friday morning. Her bail has been set at $200,000.
