PETALUMA – According to a Community Bulletin issued by the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy on patrol on November 11 observed two vehicles speeding southbound on Highway 101 near the Hearn Avenue exit shortly before 9:30 PM. The drivers appeared to be chasing each other and making dangerous lane changes at high rates of speed.

The deputy overtook one of the vehicles just off the Rohnert Park Expressway exit. The car went into a parking lot and proceeded without stopping, slowing weaving through the lot and finally coming to a stop. The Deputy noticed four people in the car and called for back-up as he approached.

The driver appeared very nervous and the Deputy detected the smell of alcohol and marijuana. The occupants of the vehicle were all wearing gang attire. While the Deputy spoke with the driver he noticed one of the passengers trying to hide something. Additional deputies arrived, including a Deputy from the Multi-Agency Gang Enforcement Team (MAGNET) unit who recognized all of the men from the vehicle as active gang members.

The driver was identified as Daniel Lester Crozier, a 22-year-old man from Santa Rosa. He was arrested for DUI, obstructing a peace officer, being an active participant in a criminal street gang, conspiracy and a gang enhancement. He was booked into Sonoma County Jail and later produced bail set at $35,000.

Dominic William Brown, an 18-year-old from Santa Rosa, was found to be carrying a loaded semi-automatic pistol. He was arrested and booked for carrying a loaded firearm in public, being a gang member carrying a gun, and carrying a concealed weapon while being an active participant in a criminal street gang, conspiracy and a gang enhancement. His bail was set at $100,000. It wasn’t immediately known if the pistol was stolen.

The other passengers arrested were 20-year-old Pedro Giovanni Segoviano of Santa Rosa and 22-year-old Montanez David Moreno, also from Santa Rosa. Segoviano had an outstanding felony domestic violence warrant, and is also being charged with being an active participant in a criminal street gang, conspiracy and a gang enhancement. His bail was set at $55,000. Moreno is charged with being an active participant in a gang and conspiracy. His bail was set at $25,000.
