Authorities Seek Second Suspect in Attempted Homicide

JURUPA VALLEY – A second suspect remains at large following an assault that left one victim suffering from severe injuries.

According to a press release from the Riverside Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded to an incident on Tuesday, August 11 on the 5900 block of De La Vista Avenue, located in the city of Jurupa Valley. A caller reported an assault with a deadly weapon. When officers arrived they quickly located a male victim with severe injuries that had been caused by the assault. The victim was transported to a local hospital and treated for his injuries.

Investigators assigned to the Jurupa Valley Police Department responded and assumed the investigation. While looking into the incident, investigators identified a 20-year-old, Jurupa Valley resident, Juan Ramon Quevedo as one of the suspects involved in the attack. Officers served a warrant and arrested Quevedo on Friday, August 28. He was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center on charges of attempted homicide, and is currently being held on $1,000,000 bail.

Investigators reported that they are seeking a second suspect, whom they described as an Hispanic male adult in his early twenties, approximately 5’05” tall, with thick sideburns, a thin beard and short hair.

This investigation is ongoing and the Sheriff’s Department is asking anyone with additional information to contact Investigator Robert Lutz at the Jurupa Valley Station, at (951) 955-2600.
