‘Takeover’ Armed Robbery Suspects Arrested

OCEANSIDE- Oceanside police arrested four suspects for a series of takeover armed robberies at retail outlets in Oceanside and Vista.

The Oceanside Police Department SWAT team and several other units served four search warrants on Wednesday, August 12 at locations in Oceanside and Vista, and arrested four men in connection with the robberies. The suspects were identified as John Gonzales, 21 of Vista; Jaleil Thomas, 21 of Vista; and Timothy Williamson, 20 of Oceanside.

All three men were arrested for armed robbery, burglary, possession of stolen property, and conspiracy to commit robbery. A fourth suspect, Lucas Gravelle, 20 of Oceanside, was arrested for possession of stolen property.

The robberies took place at a GameStop in Oceanside on August 5, the Oceanside Pharmacy on July 10, a GameStop in Vista in July, and a beauty supply store in Vista in March. Oceanside police said the robberies were done “takeover style, which included brandishing firearms at the victims, tying the victims up, and forcing the victims to move to other rooms or offices in the building.”

Oceanside Police officials said that “evidence was located at each residence which connects the four suspects to the crimes” and that “the suspects were also placed at the scenes by independent witnesses.”
