Police Search for Elk Grove Grocery Store Robber

ELK GROVE— Police are continuing their search for a man suspected of robbing a Raley’s grocery store in Elk Grove on Friday, July 17.

According to police reports, the suspect—identified as a middle-aged Caucasian man—demanded money from employees at the customer service desk of the Raley’s on Elk Grove Boulevard and Franklin Boulevard at approximately 4:05 p.m. Employees gave him an undisclosed amount of money before he left the premises.

Employees described the thief as a 40 to 50-year-old white male, approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall with a large build. He was wearing a dark blue short-sleeve t-shirt, black baseball cap, blue jeans and athletic shoes.

From this description Elk Grove Police believe this is the same suspect who committed similar robberies in Livermore, Lodi and Tracy over the past week.

Police are asking that anyone with information to call the Elk Grove Police Department Detective Bureau at (916) 478-8060 or Crime Alert at (916) 443-HELP (4357).  Callers to Crime Alert can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.00.  Tips can also be sent via SMS text message by entering CRIMES (274637) on a cell phone, followed by Tip732 (agency identification number) and the message.
