Carjacking Suspect Chased Down by Owner’s Friend

FRESNO – When his friend’s car was stolen, a man jumped onto his motorcycle and chased the vehicle for several miles before police were able to arrest the suspect.

Around noon on Tuesday, 23-year-old Keith Stump allegedly stole a 1998 Honda Civic from a home in the 4000 block of East Saginaw Way in Fresno. The car’s owner and a friend were inside the home eating lunch, authorities said.

The friend saw someone in the car and both men ran outside. They tried to pull the suspect out of the vehicle, but he smashed the friend against the windshield, knocking him to the ground, and then drove away in the Civic, authorities said.
