Southland Duo Arrested for Robbery, Conspiracy

HAWTHORNE— Sarai Rodarte, 18, and Edgar Raymundo Rodarte, 20, were arrested by Hawthorne police officers on Friday, May 8 at approximately 8:45 p.m. The two Long Beach-based residents were picked up along the 11100 block of Eastwood Avenue in Hawthorne. Though they share a last name, they reported different home addresses in Long Beach when booked.

Sarai Rodarte was charged with attempt to receive stolen property (496(d)PC), conspiracy to commit a crime (182(A)(1)PC), robbery in the first degree (211 PC) and possession of a controlled substance (11364(A)HS). She also had two warrants: one from Hawthorne PD for possession of a controlled substance (11377(A)HS) and one from Long Beach PD for being a minor in possession of a concealed weapon (29610PC).

Edgar Rodarte was charged with robbery in the first degree (211PC), taking a vehicle without owning it (10851(A)VC), attempt to receive stolen property (496(d)PC), conspiracy to commit a crime (182(A)(1)PC) and possession of narcotic controlled substance (11350(A)HS).

Bail for Sarai Rodarte, who is listed as unemployed, was set at $240,250. Laborer Edgar Rodarte’s bail was slightly higher at $255,000.
