Man Arrested for Armed Robbery of Rancho Cordova Gas Station

SACRAMENTO—Police arrested a man on Tuesday, April 14, for robbing a Valero gas station in Rancho Cordova earlier this month.

Jovante Roland Taylor, 19 of Rancho Cordova, is accused of armed robbery at a gas station on the 10600 block of Coloma Road, according to the Sheriff’s Department. In the evening hours of Thursday, April 2, he allegedly entered the gas station armed with a gun and stole merchandise.

Detectives obtained the business’ surveillance video and were able to identify Taylor through physical evidence at the scene. He was described as wearing black pants and black shoes with white soles, and carrying a black or silver handgun.

Taylor was arrested on suspicion of robbery and possession of a gun, and booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on Tuesday. Bail has been set at $100,000.

Police are also searching for links between Taylor and other crimes in the area, and have not released his booking photo due to the ongoing investigation.
