San Luis Obispo Man Arrested for Child Pornography

The San Luis Obispo Sheriff’s Office has a man in custody for allegedly possessing and distributing child pornography.

According to the sheriff’s office, detectives with the Sexual Assault Felony Enforcement (SAFE) team served a search warrant at a home in the 2900 block of Little Creek Lane in Paso Robles on Tuesday at around 8:30 a.m.

Sheriff’s detectives had received information that child pornography was being downloaded and distributed from a computer at that residence. Detectives served the warrant, seized computers, external hard drives and thumb drives, which contained several hundred images and videos of pre-pubescent children engaged in sexual acts.

The images appear to have been downloaded from the internet and then distributed. The seized electronics will be forensically analyzed for child pornography. Detectives arrested Eugene Virgil Rominger, 51, of Paso Robles on one count of possession of child pornography and one count of distribution of child pornography.

Rominger was taken into custody and booked into SLO County Jail.
