Chowchilla Maintenance Worker Arrested

A man in Chowchilla has been arrested on a bench warrant for domestic violence last Thursday evening, March 19.

According to the Madera County Department of Corrections, Delbert Vandecar, 50, was booked on a charge of inflicting corporal injury on a spouse or co-habitant, along with two charges of out-of-state warrants. He was arrested by Chowchilla police and booked at 5:48 pm. His original arrest on the domestic violence charges was made on December 8.

Vandecar, who reports his occupation as a maintenance worker, is no stranger to the Chowchilla police or Madera jail. According to officials, Vandecar was arrested in 2007 on two counts of grand theft, conspiracy, and vandalism with over $5,000 in damages. He was also arrested that year for DUI and driving with a suspended license.

Bail has been set at $120,000, and he faces possible extradition for the outstanding warrants.
