Gang Member Accused of Stealing from Walmart

FRESNO – A gang member will be facing theft charges after police viewed video surveillance allegedly showing him stealing items from a Walmart earlier this year.

Emilio Mancia is already behind bars for allegedly robbing a shoe store in southeast Fresno in the beginning of January. The District Attorney’s Office is now looking to file grand theft charges against Mancia based on the Walmart robbery.

Mancia allegedly stole three computers, a lawn mower and other merchandise from the Walmart located on the 5100 block of East Kings Canyon Road in January and February. The estimated total value of the items is more than $1,600, which supports the grand theft charge, authorities said.

Mancia is currently serving time for robbing Warehouse Shoe Store on the 4700 block of East Kings Canyon Road on January 7.

This is not Mancia’s first brush with the law. He has been arrested every year since 1996, except in 2004 when he was incarcerated, authorities said. His arrests have included suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, robbery, auto theft, burglary and grand theft.
