Bakersfield Man Arrested after Search Turns up Drugs and Stolen Gun

BAKERSFIELD — A 38-year-old man was arrested last Friday after deputies found guns and illegal drugs inside his east Bakersfield home.

Terrance Edgar was booked into the Kern County Jail on various charges, including possession of a firearm and ammunition by a felon, possession of stolen property, possession of a controlled substance, and conspiracy.

The Kern County Sheriff’s Office said that Edgar’s arrest took place after deputies from the gang unit served a search warrant at his home in the 3900 block of Mitchell Avenue at around 8:30 p.m. on February 13.

Deputies said after making initial contact with Edgar, a 43-year-old woman, and two small children who were all inside the residence at the time of the search, they discovered a stolen .45 caliber semi-automatic handgun, over 100 rounds of ammunition, suspected methamphetamine and surveillance equipment.
