Nail Tech Arrested for Metal Knuckles, Narcotics Possession Warrants

HAWTHORNE, CA—One wonders what street name is taken up by a man who carries metal knuckles, is accused of ferrying narcotics and claims to be a “nail tech.”

Hai Phan, 24, was arrested by Hawthorne police officers on Monday, February 9 at approximately 8:30 p.m. along the 4200 block of West 142nd Street near West Rosecrans Avenue and the 405 freeway. It was unknown what prompted police to pick him up, but what is known is that he had no fewer than five outstanding warrants. Three were from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD) and were for possession of metal knuckles (21810PC), possession of narcotic controlled substance (11350(A)HS and possession of controlled substance drug paraphernalia (11364.1A1HS). Bail was not set for the knuckles and actual narcotic possession warrants; bail for the paraphernalia warrant was set at $26,000.

The other two warrants were issued by Gardena PD and were for possession of a controlled substance (11377(A)HS) and possession/use of drug paraphernalia (11364.1A1HS). Bail for these two warrants was set at $20,000 and $5,000 respectively.
