According to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, the incident began when on Jan. 5, when Farias showed up at the home of Kimberly and Terry Finch in the 500 block of Twinleaf in Oildale to see her biological daughter, who the Finch’s had temporary guardianship and custody of since December.
Accompanied by Arredondo, the two were allowed to enter the residence to see the girl but were refused to take the girl to lunch.
That’s when Farias took the girl from the home through a bedroom window, while Kimberly spoke to Arredondo.
After Arredondo left the residence, Kimberly observed Farias running down the street with the girl.

Deputies immediately began a search for the girl that lasted approximately 12 hours and ended on Jan. 6, at about 2:40 a.m. when Farias, Arredondo and the girl, who was unharmed, were all located at a residence in the 700 block of “L” Street in downtown Bakersfield.
