Kavon William Cry, 18, and Omar Lee Talley, 19, were reportedly apprehended and booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail for a charge of murder resulting from the incident.

According to Sac Sheriff, on Saturday, October 18 at about 10:45 pm, Rancho Cordova Police Officers responded to multiple calls reporting shots fired in the 10700 block of Ambassador Drive. Upon arrival, officers reportedly found a male in his mid 20s who had been shot. The victim reportedly later died as a result of his injury.

Sac Sheriff homicide detectives responded to the scene and determined the victim and his friend had encountered three black male adult subjects at the Riverview Elementary School on Ambassador Drive. After a verbal altercation, driven by an undetermined motive, the victim was reportedly shot and the three suspects fled the scene on foot. Homicide detectives believe the suspects were not known to the victim when they encountered each other on Ambassador Drive.
