Inglewood Man Collects Warrants From South Bay Cities

INGLEWOOD, CA—Some people collect coins, others collect stamps–and some collect warrants.

Jose Efren Fermin, 26, was picked up by Inglewood police on Monday, October 6 at approximately 1:15 a.m. along the 600 block of Walnut Street.

The Inglewood resident was apparently arrested for inflicting corporal injury to a spouse/cohabitant (273.5(A)PC). It was soon discovered that he had a number of warrants from a variety of South Bay cities including Inglewood.

Fermin had three failures to appear (40508(A)PC) in Hawthorne, Inglewood and Los Angeles as well as one failure to appear after a written promise (853.7PC) in Inglewood. He also had two driving violations: driving without a license (12500(A)VC) in Inglewood and driving with a suspended license (14601.1AVC) in Culver City.

The corporal injury charge brought a bail of $50,000. The total bail for the six warrants from four police departments was $42,793.

With nearly $100,000 in bail on his head, one wonders if he will be allowed to continue adding to his collection.
