Preschool Volunteer Arrested on Molestation Charges

VISALIA – A man was arrested for allegedly molesting a 9-year-old girl while volunteering as a child care worker at the Road Church.

Police arrested 34-year-old Dan Sisk after the girl’s parents lodged a complaint that their daughter had been molested during an incident at the church on Aug. 20.

Sisk reportedly engaged in inappropriate touching with the child at the church, which is located in the 1000 block of South Burke Street. Sisk was babysitting for a Bible study group on the Wednesday evening when the incident happened, police said.

Sisk also regularly volunteered to work with children at Central Valley Christian Preschool and Growing in Grace Preschool. Police do not believe that any inappropriate incidents ever happened between Sisk and the students at the preschools. CVC Preschool was notified about the arrest and Sisk has not been allowed to return to the school since.

At least some of the volunteering was in connection to a child-development course Sisk was enrolled in at College of the Sequoias, police said.

Anyone with addition information should contact police at (559) 734-8116.
