The driver was identified as Dante Richmond, a 38-year-old man from Suisun City. The officer noted signs of intoxication and asked Richmond to exit the vehicle. During the contact Richmond continuously placed his hands in his pockets contrary to the instructions of the officer. For safety reasons the officer searched Richmond and found a folding knife in each of his front pockets. The officer also found a fully loaded .40 caliber magazine in the car.

The officer then continued with a roadside DUI evaluation that resulted in Richmond’s arrest. A subsequent vehicle inventory also located a loaded .40 caliber handgun in the glove box that had a round in the chamber. Also found were prescription painkillers for which Richmond had no prescription. A records check revealed that Richmond is a convicted felon with a lengthy criminal history.

Richmond was booked on charges of Driving Under the Influence, possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of a loaded and concealed firearm, and possession of a controlled substance.
