Hotel Worker Charged with Burglary, More

HAWTHORNE, CA—Moonlighting works best when one chooses a gig physically far from where one has a day job.

Wendy Velazquez, 33, was arrested by Hawthorne Department officers on Wednesday, July 16 at approximately 9:30 p.m. The Los Angeles resident was stopped along the 2700 block of 120th Street in Hawthorne. The address is near a Target store which is one block from SpaceX (founded Tesla Motors’ Chief Operating Officer Elon Musk), Hawthorne Municipal Airport and the 105 freeway.

She was charged with a laundry list of apparently related charges: burglary (459PC), possession of a controlled substance (11364HS), conspiracy to commit any crime (182(A)(1)PC), petty theft/personal property (484(A)PC), petty theft with a prior related charge (666PC) and contributing to the delinquency of a minor (272(A)(1)PC).

Total bail was set at $66,250. The burglary, conspiracy and petty theft with a prior charge were each $20,000.

It is unknown if the Westin Hotel worker had committed the alleged crimes where she worked.
