Sac Sheriff Arrests Bell Street Murder Suspect

Homicide detectives from the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department have reportedly arrested a man in connection to the murder of a 34-year-old man on Bell Street, according to an official press release.

Hishima Jay Small, 26, was reportedly booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on Friday, June 27, 2014, for murder after he was reportedly found and apprehended by detectives. He is reportedly being held without the possibility of bail.

According to Sac Sheriff, on Friday, June 13 at approximately 5:30 am, deputies were called to the 3000 block of Bell Street for a report of a male involved in a shooting. Upon arrival, deputies reportedly found a black male — later identified as Kareem Johnson, 34 — dead in the parking lot of the location.

Detectives reportedly believe the motive for the murder was robbery, but are still asking anyone with information regarding this crime to contact the Sheriff’s Department at 916-874-5115.
