Teen Arrested for Dolphin Way Murder

Homicide detectives from the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department have reportedly arrested a 16-year-old teenager for the murder of Billy Joe Stidman, 54, inside his home in Rio Linda on the evening of Sunday, June 15, 2014, according to an official press release.

According to Sac Sheriff, at about 10:30pm on Sunday, June 15, 2014, officers responded to the 100 block of Dolphin Way in Rio Linda in response to a call of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers reportedly found a male victim — later identified as Stidman — had been shot. The victim was reportedly transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

Detectives reportedly believe the juvenile suspect had been an invited guest of a teenager in the home. They also reportedly believe the suspect became involved in a confrontation with Stidman when he displayed a gun and shot Stidman in the upper torso.

Homicide detectives are asking anyone with information regarding this incident to contact the Sheriff’s Department at 916-874-5115.
