Home Invasion Victim Arrested After Drug Lab Found

VISALIA – A man who reported to police that he had been attacked in his home was arrested after investigating officers discovered an operational drug lab in the house.

Officers with the Visalia Police Department responded to a report of a home invasion on Parkwood Court near Akers Street and Hurley Avenue just after midnight on Tuesday.

The victim, 18-year-old Guillermo Vasquez, told the officers that two masked men had forced their way into the home and tried to steal money. He said the suspects also pistol-whipped him during the robbery, giving him minor injuries, according to authorities.

During the investigation of the home invasion, officers found evidence of a clandestine cannabis lab, including concentrated cannabis, cocaine, and paraphernalia used for making drugs, authorities said.

Vasquez was treated for the injuries he sustained during the home invasion and was then arrested and booked into the Tulare County Main Jail on narcotics charges.

The home invasion investigation is still ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call the Visalia Police Department at (559) 734-8116.
