Three Suspected Gang Members Arrested in Bakersfield Drug Sting

BAKERSFIELD — A trip of suspected gang members were arrested on last Friday during a drug rain in southeast Bakersfield.

Mitchell Vastbinder, 53,  47-year-old Frank Rodriguez Jr. and 38-year-old Kimberly Taylor were all booked into the Kern County Jail.

Vastbinder was charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of sale and maintaining a residence for the purpose of selling narcotics. Rodriguez, who was on an active warrant was charged with violating the terms of his post release community supervision, and Taylor was charged with possession of heroin, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to the Kern County Sheriff’s Department, deputies from the KCSO gang deputies executed a search warrant at approximately 6 p.m., on May 30, at a residence in the 600 block of Terrace Way. During their search, deputies said they located 16 grams of methamphetamine, a small amount of heroin, nearly $4,000 in US currency, surveillance equipment and paraphernalia associated with the sale of controlled substances.
