Son Shoots Father in Back

SAN DIEGO COUNTY – 35-year-old Philip Campbell shot his father in the back while at the Los Coyotes Indian Reservation.  He then fled to the hills of Hot Spring Mountain, to a residence on Camino Moro.

Tribal police located him there and held him until deputies arrived to arrest him.

The arrest happened without incident and police recovered the rifle used in the shooting.

The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon around 4:30 p.m.  Campbell was booked in suspicion of attempted murder.  His father is expected to recover.
