A man has reportedly been arrested for killing his elderly mother, according to an official press release from Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office.
John David Matta, 53, was reportedly arrested and booked into the Sacramento County Mail Jail for the murder of his 75-year-old mother.
According to Sac Sheriff, at about 4:45pm on Sunday, May 18, 2014, the Sheriff’s Communications Center received an incomplete 911 phone call from a residence within the 8000 block of Silk Tree Way in Antelope. The male on the phone reportedly said he had an altercation with his mother at the residence, and then the phone line disconnected.

Upon arrival, patrol deputies reportedly found a 75-year-old female deceased inside the residence. Deputies reportedly detained the male family member — later identified as Matta — who was reportedly the only other occupant and resident of the home.
The reasons surrounding the altercation reportedly are unknown as this time, and the identity and cause of death of the female victim will reportedly be released by the Sacramento County Corner’s Office.
