With Statutory Rape Charges Yet To Be Filed, Court Date Set For Davis Priest

Even though no charges have been filed in the case of a St. James parish priest arrested last week for statutory rape, the Yolo County District Attorney’s office announced a Wednesday, June 10, arraignment date for Reverend Hector Coria, 45.

Fr. Coria was taken into custody May 9 on pending charges that potentially could include, besides statutory rape, oral copulation with a minor. Davis police investigators who exhaustively followed several lines of inquiry into Fr. Coria’s activities say Coria engaged in an unlawful sexual relationship with a 17 year old girl beginning in late 2013.

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Sacramento has placed Fr. Coria on administrative leave, and Coria’s photo has been taken down from the St. James Catholic Church website.
