Sac Sheriff Makes Arrest in Arcade Creek Trail Attack

The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department has recently arrested a man in connected to an assault that had occurred along the Arcade Creek Trail near American River College back in April, according to an official press release.

David Oliver Dixon, 28, of Carmichael, was reportedly arrested on Monday, May 12, and booked into the Sacramento County Jail for charges including assault with the intent to commit a felony and false imprisonment. He is reportedly currently being held on $1 million bail.

According to Sac Sheriff, on Monday, April 21, the female victim was walking along the Arcade Creek nature trail when she was approached by a man — later identified as Dixon — on a bicycle. Dixon reportedly dismounted from is bike, displayed a weapon, and grabbed the victim by the arm. The victim was reportedly able to break free and get away.

In a separate attack along the Arcade Creek Trail on Friday, March 21, a female victim was reportedly jogging on the trail when she was approached from behind by a male suspect, again riding a bicycle. In this incident, the male suspect reportedly grabbed the victim, wrestled her to the ground, and attempted to sexually assault her. The suspect then reportedly fled the area. Detectives are reportedly continuing their investigations to determine if Dixon is connected to this earlier incident as well.
