INGLEWOOD, CA—Was he taken in for walking in the wrong area?

Oshay Christin Henderson, 19, was arrested by Inglewood Police Department (IPD) on Sunday, May 4 at approximately 11 p.m. He was picked up along the 4100 block of West Century, an area that is filled with cheap hotels that are not far from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). After dark, the area is well-known for prostitution arrests by a number of South Bay police departments, including Inglewood, which has direct jurisdiction over the boulevard between Van Ness Avenue west to Aviation Boulevard, which is bordered by the airport’s western-most tarmac.

Although the police report stated that the reason for the arrest of the alleged Inglewood Parks & Recreation employee was “obstructing/resisting/etc” a police officer, IPD spokespersons did not to define what happened. This does appear to be Henderson’s first run in with the law, however. According to his DeviantArt.com profile, he aspires to be a screenwriter, actor, and perhaps even a professional football player. In addition to Parks and Recreation, he says he works several part time jobs. According to the arrest report, he lives in an apartment on the same block he was arrested on.

Bail for Henderson was set at $10,000.
