Addicts Take Advantage of Elder

Arrests made by Paso Robles Police revealed an elderly woman’s home was being used as a drug house.

According to Police, officers of their Special Enforcement Team (SET) served a narcotics related search warrant in the 1800 block of Serra Way on Sunday at approximately 7:00 a.m.

During a search of the residence, police discovered approximately .5 grams heroin, numerous hypodermic needles, indicia of heroin use, prescription pills and other drug paraphernalia was seized.

Police say the residence was being used by numerous people to consume illegal narcotics.

Investigators discovered the house was owned by a 73-year-old female who was being taken advantage of by her drug-addicted son, who was allowing his drug-addicted friends uncontrolled access to the residence.

According to PRPD, a referral is pending with SLO County Adult Protective Services to assist her with additional resources.

Police arrested Christopher Cortelyou of Paso Robles, 37, for felony possession of a controlled substance and a misdemeanor for possession of drug paraphernalia .

Also arrested was Caleb Reberry, 21, of Paso Robles for a misdemeanor for being under the influence of a controlled substance and a misdemeanor for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Both were booked in SLO County Jail.
