Last week, on Tuesday April 1, Redding Police were called at 3:53 in the afternoon by Anthony Kemery Hoover, 21, who said that two men had robbed him at gunpoint. He told police that he had given a ride to an apartment on Orange Street to Marcus DeeAnthony Hodges, 21. When they got there, however, they were met by Antonio Dean Goodwin. He held a gun on Hoover and accused him of stealing an X-Box gaming system, and threatened to kill him.

Goodwin proceeded to take Hoover’s wallet and car keys, removing cash and his California ID card from the wallet, and then took more money from in the car. He then returned the wallet and keys and left the scene.

It became apparent that Hodges, the one who initially asked Hoover for the ride, was in on the ambush robbery. After an investigation, arrest warrants were issued for both men.

On Friday April 4, both Goodwin and Hodges were located at the apartment at 1114 Orange Street. Goodwin was in possession of heroin, hydrocodone pills, and the ID card taken from Hoover. Both men were arrested and booked on charges of robbery and conspiracy. Goodwin was additionally charged with possession of stolen property, possession of a controlled substance for sale, and brandishing a firearm.
