Rapper Gets a Start on His Obligatory Rap Sheet

HAWTHORNE — Every rapper needs a rap sheet to be “street.”

Curtis Lewis Price, 24, was picked up by Hawthorne police on Monday, March 31 at approximately 1:30 a.m. along the 4800 block of 118th Street. It was not stated why the 5-foot-6, 145-pound Los Angeles resident was stopped, but police ultimately charged the self-proclaimed rapper with two DUI charges. One was a DUI for alcohol/drugs and the other was a DUI for having a blood alcohol level of 0.8 percent or more.

A third charge was tacked on for a warrant that may negate the rapper’s “street cred,” however: that warrant was from a petty theft charge that according to the police report stemmed from a “petty theft under $50” that was from Los Angeles Police Department.

Bail for the two DUIs were $5,000 each and the bail for the petty theft warrant set at $500.

It’s a long way to the top if you want to rap and get bank-rolled, but at this rate, some rappers are going to have to up their game if they want to be Fifty Cent.
