North Highlands Man Arrested for Stabbing Homocide

SACRAMENTO—Sacramento Police arrested a man on Thursday, February 20, in connection with the stabbing death of a man in North Highlands.

Kevin Cottle, 36, of North Highlands was booked on Friday into Sacramento County Jail on suspicion of homicide. He is being held without bail.

The victim, 33, whose identity has not been released by authorities, was in a confrontation with Cottle when he was stabbed more than once in his upper torso, according to a Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department press release. The two men knew each other, the release also stated.

Deputies responding to a call to the area of Cornelia Way and Bruce Way in North Highlands at approximately 8:10 p.m. and found the victim suffering from multiple stab wounds. Deputies administered aid before the victim was taken to the hospital. The man died at 8:40 p.m. Thursday.

The victim’s name has been withheld pending notification of next of kin.
