Let’s Hope He Does Better on the Basketball Court

INGLEWOOD, CA—His play in the law court carried a heavy penalty, and one hopes that he does better than dribble on the basketball court.

Marshawn Lee Gordon, 36, was stopped by Inglewood police (IPD) on Wednesday, January 8 at about 8:30 p.m. The Compton man was pulled over at the corner of Walnut and Buckthorne in Inglewood.

He told police that his occupation is “basketball player.”

Reached via e-mail, IPD spokespeople did not comment on why the 6-foot tall, 160-lb man was stopped.

Gordon apparently has two priors, both of which went to warrant. A failure to stop at a red light warrant was issued by L.A. Superior Court of Compton and clocked in at $657.00 The other warrant, issued by Inglewood police, came in at an eye-popping $26,000—for driving without a license.

In the future, it is imagined that Gordon will be spending a lot of time running between two courts as well as on one of them.
