Convicted gang member busted for weapons and meth

BAKERSFIELD — A 26-year-old convicted felon and known gang member was arrested on Thursday for violation his probation.

Nolberto Quintero was booked into the Kern County Sheriff’s Central Receiving Facility on charges of  possession of a firearm and ammunition by prohibited person, possession of narcotics for the purpose of sale and participation in a criminal street gang.

According to officials, Quintero was taken into custody after deputies from the Sheriff’s Gang Suppression Section went to a residence in the 400 block of Oswell Street on Jan. 23, to conduct a probation search.

During their search of the residence, deputies said they located a loaded .25 caliber semi-automatic handgun and a loaded .380 caliber semi-automatic handgun.

Deputies also said they located over 18 grams of suspected methamphetamine and paraphernalia that led them to suspect that Quintero was selling the drug.
