Taft child molester arrested in Fresno

TAFT — A 45-year-old Taft man wanted for molesting two children was arrested on Wednesday in Fresno. Ernesto Roman Carderon was booked into the Kern County Jail on multiple counts of child molestation.

According to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, Carderon had been pursued by authorities since January 10, after he allegedly molested an eight-year old girl and a seven-year old boy at a residence in the in the 600 block of “B” street in Taft. The children’s mother reported Calderon fled the home on foot, after she caught him in the act of molesting her children.

During their investigation, deputies learned Carderon had been a guest at the home for several months and had allegedly molested both children repeatedly.

Through tips, deputies learned Carderon had fled to the Fresno area and on January 21, deputies from the K.C.S.O. Special Operations Group located and arrested Carderon at a residence in the 3000 block of East Nevada Street in Fresno.
