A 79-year-old woman was arrested for drunk driving on Tuesday after she drove across the front yards of multiple homes.
Billie Jo Sorenson, of Palm Desert, was driving near Chaparral Drive when she missed a turn and went careening across several lawns, colliding with a tree, according to a Palm Desert Police press release.
Responding officers determined Sorenson was intoxicated, said police.
She was arrested for DUI and booked into the Smith Correctional Facility in Banning.
