Parolee tries to use fake bills and then eats them

TEHACHAPI — A 29-year-old Panorama City man was arrested in Tehachapi on Wednesday morning after trying to pass counterfeit bills at a local convenience store.

Tony Ross, a Los Angeles County parolee, was taken into custody by Tehachapi police officers after he allegedly attempted to use fake $50 bills to make a purchase at the Four Seasons Mini Mart on East Tehachapi Boulevard .

Officers said that that around 9 a.m. on Jan. 15, they were flagged down by a  clerk at the mini mart who pointed out Ross who, when he spotted officers, tried to hide the evidence by shoveling four of the fake bills into his mouth before being taken into custody.
