A 21-year-old Manteca man faces criminal charges after dropping his girlfriend’s dying baby off at a hospital on Saturday.
Longino Lamont Tolefree Jr. took the 19-month-old girl to the emergency room, where medical staff felt something was awry and called police.
The baby died shortly after. An autopsy revealed evidence of a homicide, said Manteca Police Department officials.
Police tracked Tolefree to his work, and arrested him on suspicion of child abuse, guardian inflicting injury and corporal injury.
