Driver punches officer after vehicle accident, according to police

San Francisco – A man was arrested Sunday after getting into a fender bender with a female police sergeant, and then allegedly punching her in the face.

Joel Henriquez, 37, was in a minor collision with the officer on I-280.

Henriquez and the off-duty officer were discussing the accident on the side of the road when he allegedly hit her.

The officer, who has not been named, fired her gun at the pavement near Henriquez. A bullet fragment hit Henriquez, causing minor injury.

Henriquez refused medical treatment, but was arrested on suspicion of making criminal threats, battery on a police officer, and making threats against an executive officer.

The officer is a 10 plus year veteran of the San Francisco Police Department, according to reports.
