Drug bust yields gun, meth, cash

Three men were arrested in South Bakersfield Wednesday on suspicion of trafficking large amounts of methamphetamine.

Harold Morales, 45, Jose Alvarez, 35, and Frankie Gomez, 27, were booked after detectives searched a home on Bridle Avenue and uncovered 20 pounds of methamphetamine, four marijuana plants, a loaded handgun and $5,000 cash.

The search was prompted by a month-long investigation by the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, with help from the Bakersfield Police Department.

All three suspects face felony drug and weapons charges.
