Teen Suspect Arrested for Orosi Shooting

TULARE COUNTY – The Tulare County Sheriff’s Department arrested an 18-year-old suspect in connection to a shooting of another teenager last weekend in Orosi.

Officers with the California Highway Patrol arrested Adonis Zavala following a traffic stop in Turlock earlier this week. He is a suspect in a shooting on Dec. 28 in the 12300 block of Badger Ave in Orosi.

Deputies from the sheriff’s department responded to the scene after receiving a call about a gunshot wound victim around 5:15 p.m. They found the 18-year-old victim suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to KaweahDeltaMedicalCenter in Visalia, where he was treated and released, according to the sheriff’s department.

Authorities have not released the victim’s name, the motive behind the shooting, or how Zavala was identified as a suspect.

Zavala was booked in the Tulare County Main Jail in Visalia on suspicion of attempted murder, according to the sheriff’s department.
