Menifee Burglary Investigation Leads to Five Arrests and $10,000 in Recovered Stolen Property

MENIFEE –  Five suspects were arrested on Thursday, suspected of burglary and possession of stolen property and methamphetamines.

At approximately 8AM the morning after Christmas, Menifee Police officers were called to the 25000 block of Barnes Road in Menifee where it was reported that a burglary was in progress. Two suspects fled the scene when officers arrived. Searching for the escape vehicles, deputies located one in the area of Murrieta Road and San Quintin. According to Sheriff’s Sgt. Frank Lodes, there were numerous items of stolen property inside the vehicle and the two occupants were arrested at the scene.

Deputies followed further leads to the 29000 block of Catano Road in Menifee where a second suspect vehicle used in the burglary was parked in the driveway. Inside the house where the vehicle was parked, officers discovered stolen property taken from the Barnes Road location. They also confiscated methamphetamine.

Another lead took Menifee Police officers to the 26000 Block of Olson Road in Homeland. There officers located two sawed-off shotguns, numerous rounds of 12-gauge ammunition and more methamphetamine. Lodes states that an estimated $ 10,000 in stolen property was recovered during the investigation. The following suspects were arrested and booked into the Southwest Detention Center:

  •     Tina Newberrybaker, 43-year-old resident of Menifee was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance.
  •     Rob-Roy Baker, 40-year-old resident of Menifee was arrested for residential burglary, possession of stolen property and possession of methamphetamine.
  •     Nicole Begley, 37-year-old resident of Menifee was arrested for residential burglary, possession of stolen property, a probation violation and a felony warrant for fraud.
  •     Brennen Bagley, 18-year-old resident of Menifee was arrested for residential burglary and possession of stolen property.
  •     Manuel Lopez, 38-year-old resident of Homeland was arrested for being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, possession and under the influence of methamphetamine while armed.
