Al Zamba’s Grandsons Charged With Stabbing

Two grandsons of famed ironworker Alfred Zampa, for whom part of the Carquinez Bridge is named, have been arrested and charged in connection with a stabbing in Crockett last month, a Contra Costa County sheriff’s spokesman said this morning. Brothers Donald Zampa, 21, and Richard Zampa, Jr., 24, were arrested Tuesday evening on suspicion of stabbing a 29-year-old man in Crockett early the morning of Oct. 26, sheriff’s spokesman Jimmy Lee said.
