Alert kids get repeat flasher arrested

EAST LOS ANGELES – A 42-year-old man was arrested for exposing himself to a girl and boy on the street on Monday, July 1st. He was picked up two days later.

Manuel Iturralde was arrested for indecent exposure

According to a Sheriff’s press release, on the Monday before the July 4th holiday, at about 8:15 in the evening, a man in a white Toyota pick-up approached a girl and her younger brother who were walking on Hubbard Street near Atlantic. He slowed and called out to the girl to look at him while exposing himself. The girl immediately called 911 on her cell phone, and seeing this, the flasher drove away as quickly as he could.

The pair got a partial license plate from his truck, however, and detectives were able to identify Manuel Iturralde as the suspect. By Wednesday the 3rd, he was located at his home in Los Angeles and arrested, charged with indecent exposure and stalking. He was booked at the East Los Angeles Sheriff’s station and held on $300,000 bail.

This wasn’t the first incident involving him either. He was already wanted in connection with several other incidents over the past few months, when he apparently exposed himself to teenage girls walking to school. These incidents are under investigation, and Sheriff’s detectives are looking for any other possible victims of Iturralde. Any witnesses, potential victims, or anyone with information about this are encouraged to call Sergeant Soto or Detective Villanueva at 323-981-5354 or 323-981-5052. Anonymous tips may be sent to LA Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS (8477), or by texting TIPLA and information to CRIMES (274637) or at Crimestoppers.org.
