Traffic Stop Yields Two Arrests

A traffic stop by Paso Robles police resulted in the arrests of two men.

According to PRPD, an officer conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle on Creston Road near Golden Hill Road for an equipment violation on Saturday around 4:40 a.m.

The driver of the vehicle was Leonard Felipe Trujillo, 38, of San Luis Obispo County. His passenger was Jason Todd Hopkins, 34, of Paso Robles.

Police say Trujillo was found to be driving under the influence of controlled substances and was arrested without incident.

During a search of the vehicle, a PRPD K9 unit indicated drugs were present in both the driver and passenger seat areas of the vehicle. Officers found approximately 11 grams of methamphetamine and approximately five grams of heroin, along with narcotics packaging materials and items used in the sales of controlled substances.

Trujillo was booked into the SLO County Jail for driving under the influence of controlled substances, possession for sale of controlled substances, transportation of controlled substances, possession for sale of narcotics, and sales of controlled substances.

Hopkins was booked into the SLO County Jail for possession of narcotics.
