Man Arrested in Stolen Check Case

BAKERSFIELD — Police said they have arrested a man they suspected of passing stolen personal and business checks.

James Roger Sanders, 39, has been charged and booked into a Kern County Jail on three separate  counts. Forgery, second degree burglary and passing/making a fictitious check.

His bail has been set at $120,000.

After an investigation, the Bakersfield Police Department made the arrest on Thursday, July 11, at approximately 12:25 p.m., when they followed leads to the 4500 block of Wilson Road in southwest Bakersfield, regarding a suspect wanted for using stolen checks belonging to Western Pacific Research Inc. in Bakersfield.

When officers arrived on scene, they immediately located Sanders and took him into custody without incident.
