Man Arrested for Stealing from Lamont Motel

FRAZIER PARK – A 52-year-old Frazier Park man was arrested for stealing from a local motel.

On June 25, Kern County Sheriff’s deputies from the Lamont substation conducted a theft investigation at the Microtel Inn and Suites in an unincorporated area near Interstate 5 and Laval Road.

During their investigation, detectives’ uncovered information that led them to believe James Stearns was their primary suspect.

A search warrant was granted and served on June 26, at Stearns residence in Frazier Park, just a short distance away from the motel.

Officials said that during their search they discovered various items that were believed to be stolen from the motel on Stearns’ property.

After confirmation, the items were returned to the motel and Stearns was arrested.

He was booked at the Kern County Sheriffs Central Receiving Facility in Bakersfield for possession of stolen property and grand theft.

His bail is set at $130,000.
